Every Thursday I look back to the past.

Soulwax have covered tracks by other artists in the past. Some have been recorded and released as b-sides, but today I bring you a lesser known cover version.

Slo Burn was a short-lived stoner rock band active during 1996 and 1997, featuring John Garcia of Kyuss fame. They released an EP called ‘Amusing The Amazing’ and Soulwax covered the opening track ‘The Prizefighter’ from time to time as an encore on their ‘Much Against Everyone’s Advice’ tour.

At the time, it was an unknown track for most of the audience and it sounded more like their stoner rock influenced debut album ‘Leave The Story Untold’.
