Dave and Steph have collaborated with or played on other people’s records in the past. There’s been a couple that are well known, like ‘We Love Animals‘ with Crookers & MIXHELL. But here’s one you might have missed: ‘Roh ft Stephen Dewaele‘ by Headman.

It was released in 2006 on the Gomma label from Germany, who also released tracks by artists like Mocky, WhoMadeWho and Munk in the zeroes.

Headman (who also used the alias Manhead as well) is Swiss-born DJ and producer Robin Insinna. ‘Roh’ was featured on his second album ‘On’.

The album was Robi’s second Full featured Album as Headman and it featured many Artists like Stephen Dewaele from Souldwax/2many Djs, Anthony from Radio 4, Mattie Safer from The Rapture and Tara from It Rough fame and many others. Remixes are by Trevor Jackson’s Playgroup and Mustapha 3000 (Erol Alkan).

The Album contains 11 tracks with influences from new wave, post punk, early house and electronica. The first track on the album features vocals with Anthony Roman from Radio 4. The Band was strongly inspired by the early NY underground and Post-Punk sounds.

Track number 2 Roh was with vocals by Stephen Dewaele, the backing track is like a proto-house track with dummachines and synths.

Next is On and On with Tara from It Rough fame. So Now! was an instrumental version that was first released together with So Then! on 12“ Vinyl.
Robi added vocals himself for Do You Feel. Moisture wich was featured in the coming out scene in Laurnce Anyways.
Movie is next with Vocals by Luca Santucci. Freedom Drums was another Headman Instrumental.
Matties Safer from The Rapture contributed on Balearica and next up is Upstart. Track No 10 is a cover by the NYC underground band Marilyn and the Moviestars which Robi was always a big fan of.
The reprise was with vocals by Ed Laliq and the Bonus track came out of an London afternoon session and ended with vocals by Ben Rymer and Erol added some backings too.
