There are plenty of Soulwax / 2manydjs edits that never got an official release, simply because these edits were made for their dj or live sets and they are not really a remix.
There are a few exceptions though, like this one. Dizzee Rascal’s collaboration with Armand van Helden was one of the biggest anthems in the summer of 2009. So no wonder that 2manydjs quickly made their own edit of ‘Bonker’s. IIRC, Dave made it on a plane on their way to another gig.
2manydjs played their edit at Blowpop in Swindon, which was broadcasted by the BBC Radio One. This recording, including the BBC Radio One jingles, was pressed on a bootleg 12″ and credited as ‘Soulwax / David Dewaele Remix’. Which is quite ridiculous because the quality of the recording is low and who will play a 12″ that includes radio jingles?
It was one of the tracks that was featured in the very first ‘Under The Covers’ live shows in 2009. Here are a few images from that live visual:
In the end the remix did get an offical release, on the Japanese version of Tongue ‘N Cheek, though the edit was sold for a very brief time through several iTunes stores.
