One of the first big jobs as producers, Dave and Steph produced most (but not all) the songs on Tiga’s debut album ‘Sexor’ in 2005. The album was released in the beginning of 2006.
Of course ‘You Gonna Want Me’ was a big hit on the dance floor and has been played a lot by 2manydjs back in the day. But this track, ‘Good As Gold’, is still a favorite by the Dewaeles. For instance, they played it at Despacio in Ghent last month.
If you google the lyrics to the song, you’ll notice a few websites think the lyrics are ‘Te Ala Te Ala, you’re good as gold’. But actually it’s not ‘Te Alla’ but ‘Tiala’, as in Tiala Brown – Tiga’s wife.
It’s also worth looking at the credits for the song:
Backing Vocals – Jake Shears
Mixed By – Philippe Zdar
Producer – Soulwax, Tiga
Programmed By [Dat Programming] – Bassface
Synthesizer [Solina] – Davido Sulwacce
Vocals – Tiga
Written-By – David Dewaele, Stephen Dewaele, Tiga Sontag
Bassface is how Tiga used to call Stefaan van Leuven, and ‘Davido Sulwacce’ sounds strangly familiar, doesn’t it?
It was released on 12″ and also as a limited 2×12″ which includes the instrumental version.
